Day 1: South Africa – Mozambique (Bilene)
Departing from your place of accommodation we make our way down to the
border of Mozambique. The road then takes us north to the small town of Bilene.
We settle in for the night on the shores
of the inland lakes of Bilene. Tonight
we will enjoy a typical Mozambican meal.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2: Bilene - Zavora
Rising early for breakfast we get ready to make our way further north,
driving through the small villages along the road. Our first dive spot is Zavora; arriving early
morning we can get ready for some diving for the next few days. There will be time to explore the area.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Days 3, 4, 5: Diving Zavora
This is the start of your diving days; Zavora has some of the best
diving in Mozambique. They even boast the
only WRECK dive in the country: the Klipfontein
Vessel was built in Rotterdam in 1939 and on the 8th January 1953
sank about 6km off the coast of Zavora.
This amazing artificial reef is a must for
advanced adventure divers. Not only that,
but they have dive sites that will take your breath away, and a cleaning
station on one of the sites where loads of Mantas are seen daily. This is also one of the best places for
Humpback Whales, Leatherback Turtles, Potato Bass and shoals of other see life.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 6: Zavora - Tofo Beach or Barra Reef
Today we will enjoy a late breakfast before packing up and making our
way to Tofo, recognized as one of the five hot spots for diving in the world. Arriving early afternoon we will settle into our
accommodation and then you can get ready for your dives for the next few days.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Days 7, 8, 9, 10: Diving Tofo or Barra Reef
The days start off early for you to get ready for your dives. There are no fewer than six dive spots in
Tofo. Your days will be filled with
diving some of the reefs every day and chatting to divers about the days’
events. Tofo also has some of the best
beaches to enjoy.
Meals: Breakfast, 2x Dinner
Day 11: Marloth Park (South Africa)
After time spent on the
pristine beaches, our journey takes us back to South Africa, bypassing Maputo,
the capital city of Mozambique. Once
across the border, it is just a short drive to Marloth Park, where we will
spend the night.
Marloth Park is a wildlife
sanctuary close to the Kruger National Park, where you are very likely to see
animals such as warthog and impala in the streets and gardens.
