The Sail boats SPIRIT OF VICTORIA and ESPERANCE follow the wind for this cruise. They do not offer a specific destination. Typically they motor out of the Harbour and sail across Table Bay towards Milnerton lighthouse, then return to the protection of Granger Bay in the lee of Table  Mountain to watch the sun set, and then motor back to the Waterfront.

Ideal for families and those wanting a pre-dinner cruise.

From Cape town it takes between one and a half to two hours to reach the island on the Jet Boat.

After visiting the island we take the short trip to the slip way at Yzerfontein and return by road.

This cruise requires an early start before sunrise to get ahead of the weather. Expect a memorable day as the JET BOAT takes us out of False Bay towards Seal Island.

Once out at Seal Island the boats stop their engines. We are left to wait for a possible view of sharks as early before dawn in the calm waters of the bay the sharks threaten the seals of the large colony. The area has one of the world’s densest populations of great white shark that lurks below the surface of the water however we can never guarantee that we will see this spectacle every time. The probability that it will happen, however, is higher here in False Bay and at Seal Island than in most other places.

Just to stay and wait for us to enjoy this is an experience in itself. While we wait, we have the opportunity to study the approximately 70 000 seals that populate Seal Island.

When your group learns the art of drumming and by introducing some of the percussion instruments, we produce an amazing collective sound. The ancient West African drum called a Djembe is used for our drumming sessions.

On reaching a sheltered anchorage at Granger Bay or Clifton Beach we drop anchor and dive into the cool waters of the ocean or laze on the deck while you sip a refreshing drink.

Once we have left the Harbour, unbeknown to your guests, a fast JETBOAT with “pirates” on board will charge up to the vessels and “take-over”, handing out eye-patches, bandanas and plastic swords.

We sail across Table Bay and turn around the limit mark off Milnerton beach and back to the finish line off Granger Bay!

Experience sailing as an active crew alongside our professional skippers and crew. Total passenger capacity is 45 per vessel but we suggest a maximum of 33 to allow guests to get involved with the sailing and walk around the boat with ease and safety.

With an added challenge of the gentle swell, take aim and fire away at the clay pigeons that are released from the trap. The package includes 15 shots per person and can be adapted to the number of shots required for your group.
